Magnificent (last year of) MK III purchased and pampered by current family since 2003. Previously had received a frame off, nuts and bolts, cosmetic and mechanical restoration performed approx. 1989 to 1991. An inspection of this car shows the quality and attention to detail that went into this beauty. The test of time also shows the knowledge and labor that went into it. You can see over 35+ documents explaining the process.

The latest services were professionally performed in late 2021. Over $6000 was spent to bring current fluids, tires, brakes, battery, clutch, leak down test, to assure lots of fun and no worries. You can see 2 documents explaining this process. Current family performed service & minor repairs and have had no accidents. titles show 112k in 2003 & 108k in 1999. Almost all of the usage was in the first couple years of ownership.

Just add gas and have fun! The classic lines of the 3000’s are like no other.

Paint-

*Finish is extremely shiny and smooth and appears as the highest of quality
*Paint seems to match well on all exterior body panels
*Paint is as when current family purchased car and could be from restoration detail documents in pictures
*Being extremely critical under florescent lighting, maybe a few light scratches typical of wiping off a darker car and a few pin head size nicks in front between headlights and rockers (see pics)
*Slight imperfection in paint near right rear corner of hood on surrounding panel (see pics)

Body-

*Body is straight and was expertly prepared to be close to laser straight
*Fits and gaps around all body panels appear fairly consistent in regards to alignment (see pics)
*We were not able to find even the smallest dented area to point out
*The back edges of the doors might be pulled in a fraction if the newer weatherstripping will allow
*Car / Chassis Tag number matches Heritage Trust
*Body Tag number matches Heritage Trust (see pics)

Magnetic paint gauge-

*We are only able to get readings on the green steel panels only with our gauge that reads from 1-15 mils max. These random readings were consistently in the range of 10 mils and above which is consistent with what we typically see on professional show quality paint finishes

Bright work-

*All bright work seemed to be mounted well and in place properly
*We do not see any damage or deep scratching
*All shows very well but we could not say in “like new” condition
*The grill and headlight bezels themselves look almost new
*All other bright work has a highly reflective look when you are 15 feet or more from the car, but as you move closer to the car and shine a light on the chrome, you will see aging and light pitting (see up close pics)

Glass-

*Windshield, both vents, and right door glass all have the TRIPLEX Logo. (Drivers door glass shows no logo)
*Knowledgeable Austin Healey people tell us it may be original glass
*Generally glass shows no DE-lamination, discoloring, bulls eyes, or cracks
*Windshield shows wiper wear on both sides (right more then left) as well as pin head size nicks from normal driving. Passenger window has lots of vertical scratching and wear from door mechanism it appears. (see pics)

Convertible Top-

*Top operation- It is very cold and the owner and I didn’t want to take a chance and damage rear window by putting top down
*Top age is not known but coloring is good, seems supple like little exposure, you are seeing it cleaned but with no dressing,
*Stitching and vinyl welding shows no splits or separation
*Front header piece seems fastened well
*Rear window shows slight aging and zipper works well on both sides
*Inside top material is without damage
*Framework appears in good shape with a little wear showing on paint
*Tonneau cover and Top boot show very little age (see pics)

Interior-

*Interior does not appear to be altered from the original design (except possibly mats and seat belts.
*Seats do have good color but do show some wear and age including drivers beading. They were purposely cleaned but no dressing applied to improve appearance.
*Console, door panels, side panels, and rear seat area show less age then seats
*All Vinyl materials seem to be fairly soft and supple
*Carpet has darker black & newer look to it and appears to have had little exposure
*Dash wood, controls, gauges, all show minimum wear
*Pictures will best show condition in detail
*Ignition switch works properly and has 2 working keys

Trunk-

*Nice attention to details with newer materials covering over the fuel tank, battery, and inflated spare tire with original style painted wheel (tire is 165-15 Michelin with no cracking- not found age date)
*Trunk lock is working and has 2 working keys
*New battery, accessory tools with bag (jack, jack wrench, knock off tool)
*Notice proper trunk prop, spare securing rod, spare leather strap, Battery shut off switch

Tires & Wheels-

*4 New tires and tubes installed fall of 2021
*185-70-15 VREDESTEIN Spirit Classic
*Tires show no damage and have less then 50 miles on them
*4 spoke wire wheels are very reflective with no visible damage. Spinners show slight wear from remove and install process (see pics)
*Current family purchased these wheels during their ownership

Engine compartment-

*Engine Leak Down test was performed during servicing and all cylinders were between 5-10% and noted as “Excellent”
*Engine compartment overall seems to be as originally designed and without major alterations. Exception being typical maintenance and repair items.
*Restoration documents posted in Pictures will add to your understanding
*You will see how the engine bay has been kept very natural without being cleared, dressings applied, chroming items, etc
*Engine number matches Heritage Trust

Chassis-

*Frame looks solid without any obvious areas of rust perforation
*Frame is painted in Green color
*Floor pans look solid without noticed rust perforation
*Bottom side components seem to have been left in original configuration and were recently wiped down and preserved with a light coat of WD40
*Stainless exhaust system and aluminum gas tank were actually purchased in approx. 2003 but just installed in 2021
*You will see a picture of the Trans # on website that is 1 digit different then Heritage Trust shows. We were not able to see the axle tube #
*Light oil seepage from front main and a small amount behind was observed
*Repair to frame appears to have been made just behind left front wheel mounting

Test Drive-

*Chad drove the car for about 5 miles on a 2 lane fairly windy road
*Engine starts good cold (takes a while to warm up) and performs as it should when warm and driving
*Car accelerates and decelerates smoothly. No misses and sounds great
*Transmission up shifts and down shifts well and smoothly,
*Overdrive engages and disengages on command with dash switch and easing off gas pedal
*Clutch operation seems smooth, no chatter, transmission engages easily
*Steering is smooth and responsive.
*Brakes stop smoothly and with good pedal and response. Stops very straight without pulling to the side. No unusual pulsation felt.
*Car seems to pretty much run and operate as it was designed to
*It is a very easy manual transmission car to drive and have fun

He accepts the vehicle with all advertised equipment, options and accessories in “AS IS” condition with any faults or defects. The buyer will bear all future costs of repairs or correcting any defects that exist or may occur in the future.
