Last retitled in 2015. The owner purchased and enjoyed for 7+ years before unexpectedly passing away. He bought it from a local fellow and transferred it to his devoted “Toys Garage” where he tweaked it to be his own. ONE Hot muscle car but easy to drive with Auto Trans. Exterior looks as a stock SS appeared in the day. Hotchkis Performance Rear Suspension components installed with Mini Tub conversion for improved grip when needed.

Paint

• Paint is very highly polished, smooth, shiny, and seems to match well all around
• Not a concourse perfect repaint but very respectable with a few minor imperfections and yet shows very well
• There are a few nicks that do exist, primarily the drivers door edge, and a few on front and back(see pics)
• Under extremely bright fluorescent lighting, you will see the roof has a few blotchy spots that may or may not polish out (see pics)
• The inside edge of rear sail panels have (near bottom corners of rear window) some cracking of paint (see pics)
• Hood has a light scrape between louvers
• Cowl Tag indicated born a Yellow car with Black interior (poss bench)

Body

• Painted body panels were expertly prepared and about as correct and straight as you could possibly expect them to be
• Gaps between different panel are uniform (see pics)
• Note a light dent between left hood louver and hood edge
• Rear bumper has had some impact that has damaged the bumper and rear edge of 2 quarters as well as a slight dimple in L quarter(see pics)

Magnetic Paint Gauge

• Roof readings fairly consistent in the 10+ mil range with the hood and trunk being slightly higher at maybe up to 20 mils range
• Sides reading more typically at 20+ mils range

Bright Work

• All exterior pieces are very shiny, mounted in proper placement, and shows well
• Under extremely bright fluorescent lighting (40 3-4’ bulbs overhead), if you look closely you will see some light pitting and age on Chrome pieces(not stainless) / you don’t notice age otherwise (see pics)
• Rear bumper is slightly out of alignment and is bent on left side
• Hood front edge molding and front bumper below left headlight has slight dent (see pics)

Glass

• Windshield shows little wear, right side glass a few light scratches and left side mostly clear
• No signs of bulls-eyes, delamination, wiper marks, or cracking in any glass
• All side glass(except RR Qtr) has the “Soft Ray” logo.
• Windshield has “sun shade solo” logo / appears to be newer glass
• Rear window has no logo

Interior

• Interior as a whole looks pretty much as OEM original looking except for the column mounted tachometer and the two auxiliary gauges below dash (not functional) and the upgraded sound system (operational)
• Dash panel has had restoration and isn’t perfect but has very nice appearance (see pics) Steering wheel shows some wear and a few cracks but has nice appearance.
• Seating and side panels are in good condition, seem soft, have good coloring and some bead wear on drivers seat edge.
• Visors are in good condition with solid backing and solid stitching
• Rear view mirror in place with glass showing age
• Cowl Tag indicates born with Black bench interior
• Headliner has good color and is in place with a couple spots of loose stitching and the rear side panels need refastened (see pics)
• Carpeting appears a little older but with use remaining. Carpet cleaning in front may benefit appearance or re color may be in order. Carpet slightly short left side of console. Console condition not as detailed as dash.

Trunk

• Floor appears to be solid with typical factory splatter paint finish
• Look closely & you will see a mini tub conversion was performed to accommodate larger tire-wheel combinations (see pics)
• Electrical cables in trunk travel to under hood (we believe) to power a speaker box at one time.
• Doesn’t include jack or lug wrench / can use front tire and wheel included for spare. / Floor plugs included with extra parts (see pics)

Tires and Wheels

• Wheels installed were with the car and owner had in storage
• New tires were purchased to match up with Rally wheels and trim rings / Paint in good condition / No damage to trim rings and caps (can’t see rims) (see pics)
• Tires are 4 new P205 /70/R15 Solar 4XS Radials / Less then 100 miles since fall 2023

Engine Bay

• Air cleaner label indicates 396 C.I. engine with 325 horsepower
• Engine Block casting number 3902406 indicates engine correct for this year SS (per chevellestuff.net)(deck numbers not original- see pics)
• Appears mostly as designed new with performance headers, an added overflow tank & wiring believe used for speaker unit in trunk, polished water pump, electric fan, & polished valve covers
• Engine compression test performed by Wheatly Automotive (All 8 cylinders 128 to 130)(see exact info in pictures)
• Engine color is Blue on bottom but Orange looking at top side from headers up
• GM 350 Transmission (per Wheatly Automotive Technician)

Chassis

• frame seems solid from front to back without any noticed rust perforation
• Floor pans appear solid without existing rust perforation
• Rockers seem solid without obvious rust perforation
• Improved Springs were installed after photos were taken
• Bell Housing Inspection cover has (since pictures) been re installed and above you will find the “Mini starter”
• Exhaust system pipes seem somewhat recent and contain an X pipe and “PYPES Violator” mufflers
• Engine front seal, inspection cover, tail shaft, and rear end seem to have light oil seepage only (see pics)
• New suspension bolts installed possibly during an alignment (see pics)
• Seam under drivers floor foot area has slight deterioration (see pics)
• Lack of undercoating or other materials allows you to properly view the undersides condition

Road Test

• Engine starts and runs without noticed issues / engine accelerates and slows as designed. Requires some pumping in cold weather as has no choke
• Transmission shifted up and down in all 3 speeds as needed / Reverse and park operate / Interior shift indicator is not reading correctly
• Vehicle steers smoothly from a full left to right turn / response seems correct for a steering box / seems to be operating correctly
• Drive train seems to be operating together as designed to / no incorrect noises heard or incorrect vibrations felt
• Brakes seemed to be working as designed without any unusual pulling or vibration felt / seemed to stop properly and performed well with front disc brakes

Operation

• Heater fan not operating
• Oil Pressure reading around 60 lbs when gauge hooked up
• Coolant temp gauge sitting around 135 when warmed up and gauge hooked up
• Wipers operate on high and low speed / Washer not working- (unit & tank?)
• Horn not operating
• Tachometer not working
• Toggle switch in ash tray / not sure what this is for?
• Passenger door hangs up sometimes when opening from inside or outside
• Interior vents open and close on both sides
• All 4 windows crank up and down
• 4 way flashers work front and back / left & right
• Brake lights work rear / both sides
• Parking lights all work front and rear / both sides
• Turn signals work / front and back / left and right
• Back up lights do not operate
• Headlights all work / high and low beam / both sides
• Titled on 5-6-2015 with 25,346 miles showing / title Brand-Exceeds Mechanical Limits
• Recommend 91+ octane fuel and Lead Additive be used

The buyer acknowledges that he has had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle to verify it is as listed and represented. He accepts the vehicle with all advertised equipment, options and accessories in “AS IS” condition with any faults or defects. The buyer will bear all future costs of repairs or correcting any defects that exist or may occur in the future.
