Current owner bought (private sale) from the original owner 9 years ago and approx 40 miles away from his home. He based the purchase decision not so much on the performance aspect of the S2000 but, on the reliability of this model. This particular car seemed to have always been extremely well cared for and not used competitively or driven by a younger driver. Current owner estimates to have had about 3 oil changes in the just over 3000 miles he has driven the car. Title indicates “Actual” mileage and we have copies of both owners titles.

Why is the S2000 so special?(per Google)
The S2000 had the highest specific output of a normally aspirated production car engine in the world. The engine gives out 124 hp per liter, and remember, this is without a turbo or supercharging. Coupled to the engine is that truly beautiful manual transmission.

Honda’s claim to fame was this engine produced about 2 HP per cubic inch / record for naturally aspirated engine

DETAILS OF CAR:

Paint:
• Painted surfaces all seem very shiny, smooth, and all painted surfaces seem to match well as is typical with new vehicles.
• No imperfections or orange peal noticed on any panels
• Original owner indicated the only paint and body repair was a slight bump from another car in the driveway at a family gathering. The rear bumper was replaced and repainted with blending into the rear quarters.
• Current owner has not had any paint or body work performed or, any accidents.
• Being very critical, when pointing an extremely bright LED flashlight into the quarters (when in a darker room), you will detect a little more deep metallic in repainted areas.
• Close inspection will show a couple nicks on the hood, a few light chips in the bumper below headlights and lower spoiler edge has a 1-2 inch hair line scratch. Also a couple nicks right behind front tires on edges (see pics)

Body
• Body is beautifully straight. The fits of the hood, trunk, doors, fuel door, all seem uniform and factory correct. (see pics)
• No dents or scrapes could be found
• Current owner indicated he did have a slight door ding removed by paint-less removal and I could not find the spot

Bright work
• All components listed below are about as close to new condition as you could imagine.
• No pitting, scratches, damage, or flaws exist
• Consists of front & rear Honda emblems, S2000 emblems (L & R), tail pipe extensions, washer nozzels, wiper arms, and windshield surround of black

Glass
• Glass all appears to be original and the windshield and 2 side windows all have the Honda Logo. All 3 appear to be tinted
• Glass is all in almost new condition with the windshield only finding 1 pin head sized nick about 2” down from left top corner. (see pics)
• We don’t see any DE-lamination, bulls eyes, wiper scratches or cracks

Magnetic Paint Gauge
• All body panels appear to be of a steel material except the bumpers and hood

A couple material readings were taken on each steel panel Doors and fenders measured in the area of 7-9 mils. Rear quarters measured in the 10-14 mils range that more or less confirmed a typical professional refinish.

Convertible Top
• Top is Power Operated with only 2 windshield latches to release and push a button / Boot use is optional
• Material is supple and has good color with even coloring. Stitching is in good condition with no fraying
• Owner indicated it is original top per original owner.
• Rear plastic window is in great condition for it’s age but has a little clouding to it (see pics)
• Includes a very quick and easy to install original Honda BOOT that can or not be used per owners preference

Tires and Wheels
• Goodyear Eagle GT’s all around
• Fronts 205/55/16 with 8-9/32 remaining (dated 4510)
• Rears 225/50/16 with 7-8 & 6-7/32 remaining (dated 1011)
• Tires do not show any damage or cracking on outside edges
• Wheels don’t show any curb rash, or noticed damage and have a good shiny finish
• What appears as a clear coat on wheels, has some light fine scratches from typical washings and would possibly improve with a little effort, clear coat compound and wax

Engine Bay
• Appears to be just as originally designed without any alterations or modifications noticed.
• Battery and other maintenance items may have been updated as required
• This is just how this engine area has been kept (has not just been detailed)

Interior
• Note- (Interior is a deep black coloring but pictures in sunlight have a blueish tint to them)
• Interior mostly looks about as close to new as you could imagine
• Coloring and materials show little exposure to sun
• Gauges and knobs show virtually no wear
• Note- there are actually 2 storage compartments between seats (upper by wind deflector & lower)
• Being critical, there is a slight scuff on the back side of the passenger seat (must fold forward to see it)
• Leather is nice and soft but shows slight typical leather “break-in” that happens when you sit in the seats and as always slightly more wear drivers bolster (see pics)

Trunk
• Looks mostly as if hardly anything was put in trunk and materials really show little if any wear
• Includes tool kit seen in picture and 2 new Honda oil filters compliments of the owner
• Spare tire & wheel is in hidden storage area located in the upper front area of trunk
• Cassette for Multi Disc player is not included (2nd owner did not receive it)

Chassis
• The floor pans and suspension components seem free of any damage from the road or any foreign objects (see pics)
• Inspection shows it is obvious this vehicle has seen little exposure to the elements
• Underside looks all original design with just a little typical surface rust on bare steel components
• No rust perforation was found
• No fluid leaks are seen from drive line (engine, trans, & rear end) or braking components / All areas seem very dry
• Boots on rear joints seem fine & without damage
• Current owner confirmed only took for drives in nice weather
• Light scraping does exist on bottom side of front spoiler (see pics)

Mechanical
• Headlights work

Test Drive
• Chad drove the car several miles around town and back to storage with the owner riding along.
• Engine starts quickly with button / very smooth on light acceleration but comes on strong when you want it (I never took it over 4-5k)(can’t imagine 8-9k RPM)
• Brakes stopped us quickly and precise without any noticed pulling or pulsation
• Clutch and shifter seemed very user friendly and easy to master. Short throw and smooth effortless linkage made driving a joy. Only got to use up to 4th but owner assured me all 6 speeds work fine. I also used reverse.
• Steering was very smooth and responsive
• The owner and I believe the car is operating properly just as it was designed to
• A seat belt retractor campaign is available for the car (see pics)
